Two-factor authentication (2FA) is mandatory for all staff accounts — Managers and Monitors. It adds a second verification step using a time-based one-time password (TOTP) from an authenticator app.
Athlete (attendee) accounts do not require 2FA.

What you need

Download any TOTP-compatible authenticator app before you begin. Popular options include:
  • Google Authenticator
  • Authy
  • 1Password
  • Microsoft Authenticator

First-time setup

The first time you log in as a staff member, you will be directed to the 2FA setup screen automatically.
1

Log in with your email and password

Enter your credentials on the login page. Because you have a staff role, the system issues a short-lived pending token and takes you to the 2FA setup screen instead of logging you in directly.
2

Open your authenticator app

Open the authenticator app on your phone or device.
3

Scan the QR code

Scan the QR code displayed on the setup screen with your authenticator app. The app will add ZoneMetrics as a new entry.
4

Enter the 6-digit code

Type the 6-digit code shown in your authenticator app into the confirmation field and submit. This verifies that your app is correctly linked.
5

You are now logged in

2FA is activated on your account. You receive a full session token and are taken to your dashboard.

Subsequent logins

1

Enter your email and password

Log in as usual on the login page.
2

Enter your TOTP code

Open your authenticator app, find the ZoneMetrics entry, and type the current 6-digit code when prompted.
3

You are logged in

Your session token is issued and you are taken to your dashboard.
TOTP codes expire every 30 seconds. If your code is rejected, wait for the next code to appear in your authenticator app and try again.

Reconfiguring 2FA (new phone or lost device)

If you get a new phone, lose access to your authenticator app, or need to re-link your device for any other reason:
1

Go to your account settings

While logged in, navigate to your account settings and select Reconfigure Authenticator.
2

Follow the setup flow

The system resets your 2FA configuration and issues a new pending token. Follow the first-time setup steps above to link your new device.
Reconfiguring 2FA requires an active session. If you are fully locked out, contact your system administrator to reset your 2FA configuration.
